Salisbury-headquartered energy consulting firm hires Salisbury University 2016 graduates Crew and Spencer

Salisbury, MD, July 20, 2016—Energy Consulting firm APPI Energy announced the hiring of Jessica Crew and Brandon Spencer as Energy Consultants. Both graduated from Salisbury University (SU) in May 2016, bringing the total number of SU alumni employed at Salisbury-headquartered APPI Energy to thirteen, making up 33% of the team. “APPI Energy has developed a strong connection with SU because we know its graduates are high caliber, and we want to keep graduates here on the shore. Delmarva is a great place for both a professional and personal life,” said Kathy Kiernan, Senior Vice President of APPI Energy and current chair of the Perdue School Executive Advisory Council.

Jessica Crew graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts, with a Journalism/Public Relations track with a minor in Marketing Management. At Salisbury University, she participated on the Women’s National Championship Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams. "I wanted to stay on the Eastern Shore to remain close to friends and family. As a previous SU student-athlete determined to contribute to the programs' success, I am driven to contribute to the success of the APPI Energy team," said Crew.

Brandon Spencer graduated this spring with his Bachelor of Science degree in Management, where he studied professional sales, organizational behavior, and strategic management. Before graduation, he studied abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica, where he learned how Costa Rican firms leverage technology to remain competitive in the global marketplace.  Since 2014 he was secretary for the student chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management at SU. "I am originally from across the bridge in Howard County, but I wanted to live and work somewhere away from the large cities and beltways. Salisbury is the perfect fit for my preferences,” said Spencer.
